Faith Bible Chapel:
A New Season of Growth

A STRATEGIC THREE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH GROTON BIBLE CHAPEL

Welcome to Faith Bible Chapel

Whether you have called Faith Bible Chapel home for decades or you are walking through our doors for the very first time today, we are so glad you are here. God is doing something remarkably unique in our church family. We have officially stepped into a strategic, three-year partnership with our close neighbors at Groton Bible Chapel to launch a major church revitalization effort.

What Is Happening?

Healthy churches are built for multiplication. Over the next three years, Faith Bible Chapel is entering an intentional, multi-phase season of refreshment, leadership discipleship, and ministry development.

Beginning this fall, a dedicated team of 30 to 40 individuals and families from Groton Bible Chapel are moving over to plant themselves at Faith Bible Chapel for the next year. They are jumping into the trenches with us to build a thriving kids' ministry, expand our volunteer teams, and bring fresh life to Sunday mornings.

For Our Longtime FBC Family: You Are the Foundation

While Groton Bible Chapel will be taking control during these next three years, foundations matter. Faith Bible Chapel has an amazing history and solid foundation of biblical faithfulness. FBC will retains its historic name and its deep roots in Westerly, but we are so excited about what God wants to do with HIS church. God alone can do more then we can ask or imagine so we are leaving the future story wide open!

Groton Bible Chapel is here to lock arms with us, provide vision and leadership, share the volunteer load, and provide resources so that our current members do not burn out. Your institutional wisdom, prayers, and love for this community are the foundation we are building upon.

For Our New Visitors: Jump into the Relaunch!

If you are looking for a perfect, deeply established, quiet church—that is not us right now. We are in the middle of a holy, messy, exciting relaunch.

Joining Faith Bible Chapel right now means you get a front-row seat to watching God rebuild a local church from the ground up. You have the rare opportunity to help shape the culture, build the ministries, and be part of a vibrant spiritual comeback story.

The Three-Year Roadmap & How You Can Help

Our ultimate prayer for this three-year window is to see a filled parking lot, a sanctuary of 100+ worshipers, a thriving kids' ministry, and a fully self-sustaining local church leadership team. Here is how we get there together:

The Three Seasons of Our Partnership

  1. The Fostering Season(Present – Summer 2026): Groton Bible Chapel provides resource support for worship and preaching while laying the groundwork for a brand-new children's ministry.

  2. The Adoption Season(Summer 2026 – Summer 2027): Leadership at FBC is relaunched with Groton Bible Chapel (GBC) at the helm. The GBC “transplant” cohort arrives to lift our volunteer ministries. Together, we begin a deep discipleship process to train prospective new local elders and a permanent pastor.

  3. The Releasing Season(Summer 2027 – Summer 2028): Faith Bible Chapel establishes its own independent elder board, commends its new permanent pastor, and returns to operating as a fully independent, thriving church family.

How to Get Involved Today

Whether you are an FBC veteran or a brand-new face, we need you on the team. This is an all-hands-on-deck season.

  • Pray: Pray for our elder boards as they navigate this transition. Pray for the 30–40 people preparing to move their families over to help us this fall.

  • Serve: Do not sit on the sidelines. We need local leaders to partner with the incoming cohort to teach Sunday school, welcome newcomers, and lead small groups.

  • Connect: If you are new, do not slip out the back door. Fill out a connection card, meet our leadership team, and ask how your unique gifts can help fuel this relaunch.

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

— Isaiah 43:19
